This past weekend, I returned to Bowen Island to hike Mount Gardner, the highest point on the island. I love visiting Bowen Island. It is a 20 minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay but feels a world’s away from the city.
I climbed to the top of Mount Gardner a few years ago during the summer, but had yet to do it in the winter. I was excited to see what adventures may ensue. I will let the pictures do the talking. Be sure to check out the gallery above and pictures with captions below.
For more information about the Mount Gardner trail visitVancouver Trails. It is approximately 17 km roundtrip including the walk to the trailhead from the ferry.
Once you return to the ferry terminal, if you have some time to spare before the ferry leaves grab a bite to eat at one of the restaurants or cafes on the main road. I have been to and enjoy: Shika, The Snug Cafe, and The Ruddy Potato Whole Foods Market.
