Welcome to Wild Coast Tales

Hello and welcome to Wild Coast Tales!

Thank you for stopping by. My name is Danielle. This is my space to share my love for running and fitness, healthy food (and a few kitchen mishaps), city exploring (and traumatic bird encounters), hiking, and other adventures on Canada’s wild west coast.

I grew up in Toronto and moved out to Vancouver to attend grad school in 2012. Post-grad I found a job and haven’t left the west coast since (much to my parents’ chagrin)!

I currently work in the private liquor industry. Having spent much of my life doing music and the arts – I attended an arts high school in Toronto and did my undergrad in music at a small university in New Brunswick – I never pictured myself working in this industry! But I’m having a great time doing so, continue to meet fascinating people, and have become highly immersed in the world of BC’s liquor policy.

Living in Vancouver has also fueled my love for climbing mountains, finding new places to explore in the city and around the beautiful province of BC, eating healthy food, trying new recipes, and running. In November 2015, I ran my first half-marathon and was bit by the running bug. In 2016, I trained and ran my first marathon in May. Having never been athletic – let alone a “runner” – growing up, I am still in shock about this one!

Enjoy following along as I attempt new challenges in running, food, and fitness, and continue crossing items off my life bucket list!
